Madhugiri Fort Trek Overview
Madhugiri is home to the second-largest monolithic hill structure across the Asian continent. The massive rock is crowned by an architectural fort built by the Vijayanagara dynasty, featuring multiple tiers of stone walls and defensive gates.
The trek climbs directly up the bare stone face of the monolith. The initial stages provide stone stairs, transitioning into steep slopes where iron rods and cables are fixed into the rock for support. You pass beautiful old stone granaries to reach the ruined top citadel.
