Ballalarayana Durga Trek Overview
This trek connects history with rugged nature. Located in the Chikmagalur borders, it leads up to a ruined fort constructed by the Hoysala Empire in the 12th century, standing precariously on a vast, vertical cliff drop.
Starting from the remote Durgadahalli village side, the path tracks up through wonderful overhead dense forest canopies. It quickly bursts out onto massive rolling grassland fields that stretch all the way to the weathered stone walls of the old fort ruins.
